Can you help me ID this Oak – Red, Black, Bur, etc. (My guess is Red) From NE Ohio, right on Lake Erie. I collected some of the acorns and hope to plant them, the type will dictate how I handle them. Any other advice you might have would be great. Maybe growing it in NC is a bad idea.

Looks like a northern red to me.

It is a Red Oak, but there are many varieties, looks like what grows all over KY-Tenn.
