natural gas starter

Thinking about the consequences of changing my propane starter, over to natural gas.

I use a hand held propane trigger and jet, about several inches long, that screws onto a one pound propane bottle.

Works fine.

But beside my bbq, I still have the plumbing, including a long hose, connected to my house's natural gas supply. This was used to fuel my Weber Genesis 1000 gas bbq.

When I moved to this house, I converted the weber so it would burn natural gas. New set of jets. And I also learned that natural gas burns a bit cooler than propane.

So. I"m thinking about just plugging in this natural gas line, instead of the propane bottles.

Any concerns, ideas etc about this?

Thanks

John N

the nozzle opening needs to be bigger running natural gas, if you dont have a conversion nozzle that fits you could try drilling it out slightly larger but what size i dont have a clue.

I've found the answer in the meantime.

It would have been great to have an unending supply and not to have to replace the propane bottles.

But different fuels need different jets to get the exact fuel to oxygen mixture, else they likely won't ignite and burn at all.

Oh well. My propane torch works fine.
