GFS has their branded Royal Oak lump on sale. $12 for 20 lbs till August 28th! I am now officially an egger, I bought three bags.
three more or more before the end of the month.
a $1000 grill and worried about $ 2 a bag of lump.. go figure.

I agree with your $1000 grill and $2 savings statement - too funny.

But, if you average a bag of lump a week in only 9.62 years you will have saved enough for another $1000 grill. Not so silly now, is it? Assuming that whole 2012 thing is not real of course...

Subconsciously we are more sensitive to a recurring (vs. one time) cost. Regardless of their relative magnitude.

Good point and I agree with you.

The Egg, however, has turned into a recurring cost for me (my second egg and the post above looking for an egg for my kid) and I am definitely sensitive to cost. So it isn't subconscious anymore - it is right up front.
