Shelby,
I think it was an after market rotisserie. It seemed to have some sort of clamp that attached to the outside of the band and then the spit sort of hooked into it.[p]I didn't pay that much attention because I've never seen the need for rotary food on the egg, the air and heat circulates just fine around the food without the food having to fight it's way around for a share of the heat.[p]Just my opinion.

Bobby-Q,
Oops I guess it is an official Egg item. Maybe call the HQ and see what the deal is?

Bobby-Q,
I asked B.A. (Atlanta HQ) about a rotisserie 2 years ago and he told me that it was unnecessary for the Egg. I was shocked when I saw those piled high, right in from of the entry tent. Maybe so many people requested them, they decided to produce one??? I have had some of the best rosemary stuffed chicken from a rotisserie on a Weber.[p]TM

TonyMark,
How did the rotisserie work? I saw it in one of the pictures and it looks like there are some sort of brackets that mount to the hinge band and you leave the lid open for the cook. Is that correct? I think it would be pretty useful for cooking duck and leg-o-lamb. Do you know the price?

katman,[p]I hope you are sitting down. The price is $140 !!!
I thought this was a little high.
A Weber rotisserie goes for $99.

TonyMark,[p]You're kidding...right? $140 bucks for the rotisserie? Funny, sticking a beercan up the bird's tookus indirect works too, and that only costs one twelfth of $7.99[p]Think I'll stick with this method for now. After I get my small and get my table done, who knows? There's always christmas from the parents, after all.

TonyMark,
Ouch! Looked like it had a nice design for holding the meat, but the standard grill works pretty good. I guess I'll continue to use my webber kettle when I want something on a spit.
