Emergency Chicken Leg Quarter help!!

Hi All,
My wife bought leg quarters instead of breasts. What temp do I need to cook the leg quarters to, and where to I put the probe? Currently, the probe is in the meatiest portion of the leg. I assume that we cook that to 180??
I am cooking right now.
Thanks!!

I like to take mine to 185-190 and I probe the thigh.

You are good to go, 180 is right, higher won't hurt. You got to work really hard to mess up chicken on the EGG :P :woohoo:

I take them to 195-200 raised grid indirect, the skin will be crispy and the meat will be very moist and falling off the bone. -RP

I do mine sometimes by grilling 15 minutes each side, then wrap them in foil, double layer, I also smother in some sauce of some sort, and 15 minutes each side, then your done, not crips skin, but a nicely done and very juicy 1/4 chicken.

Thanks getting back to me so quick everyone!! The leg quarters were amazing. I also put some pecan chips on the fire (a page out of Cookn Biker's book).
I did an indirect cook at about 350. It took also almost an hour. My friends eggsperienced BGE cooking for the first time. I usually like to cook breasts. My wife secretly switched on me b/c I think she likes the dark meat better.
