Lamb Sliders
Roudy
Posts: 431
I'm working on some recipes for Eggtoberfest, and had a taste for lamb. I decided to give lamb/pork sliders a try. Off to DeKalb farmers market for authentic Greek yogurt and ground lamb and pork

1.5 pounds of meat equals 15 sliders that fit perfectly on my grill topper

Cooked and served with a homemade Tzatziki sauce

It was excellent. I need to tweak the recipe slightly for Eggtoberfest, but this will be an easy and tasty cook to share :P

Roudy, looks excellent, great idea. Did you get the real Greek yogurt for the Tzatziki sauce? Is that Red Eye you put on there?happy in the hut

I was going to do something very similar to that last year. I think it's a great idea to do those at a fest.
Any fresh mint in there? Looks like it maybe but can't tell from the photo. -
Yep - the Greek yogurt is Fage (pronounced Fa-Yeh). I only did a light dusting of Red Eye Express. I use it on almost every lamb dish I prepare.
The Tzatziki is yogurt, minced garlic, grated cucumber, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, parsley. I love gyros and thought this would be the ideal topping for lamb burgers. -
Fresh mint and fresh rosemary from our garden. Love that combo of flavors with lamb. :P

Looks like a wonderful idea!

looks good...you gonna make enough for 2000??

 No - I think I'll limit myself to 3-5 pounds of meat and feed 30-45 folks. Working on some other items for the rest of the masses.

Any thoughts of putting sliced cucumber or red onion for a little crunch? Would even think lettuce and tomato would round those out nicely.
