cracks in egg?

Unknown
edited -0001 30 in EggHead Forum
I had the "pleasure" of moving to a new city and when we arrived in our new digs our egg sat out for a few days and got dusty. Now it looks like the green enamel (or whatever it is) is covered in millions of microcracks. There are no cracks in the interior and the cracks largely are invisible when wiped off. I don't remember if the surface looked like this before the move. Are these cracks in the surface of other eggs?[p]

Mn Chip,[p]I have a large and a small egg and mine look the same when dusty. Not a problem that I can see. I cook on my eggs at least 6 days a week and I've had no problems. I noticed the surface cracks soon after I bought each egg. I've owned the large to 4 years and the small for almost 2. Plus if it does develope into anything it just make a call to Atlanta and they'll replace it.[p]Semper Fi,[p]MC

    Mn Chip,
That is normal. All my eggs are like that.[p]TNW

    Mn Chip,
As noted... no problem... even if you live in a miserable climate with the freeze thaw cycles that cause so many problems for everything exposed to the temperature extremes of living this close to the tundra. By the way, it feels like it wants to snow here tonight....[p]Mine has had the cracks since I got it, and it sits out exposed to the elements on my deck, uncovered. No problem, other than the dome freezing shut once and awhile. Again, no problem....just heat it up and it will open right up without forcing/breaking anything.[p]Mike in Minnesota

    Mn Chip,
Again, this is a serious problem and you need to send me your egg to keep.
