? on gaskets and how to
Good Morning everyone,
well the gasket is fried on our egg, so where and what type do we need to replace it? Do I have to send for one? or is there one here in central Fla? I am a Panting Contractor so I have a palm sander if needed, Can I scrape the old gasket whats left of it off with a putty knife? I am getting a sheet of smoke leaking out of one side
But so far I am able to maintain heat control and still make pizzas and Trex steaks
any advise is appreciated in how to do this correctly. Thanks everyone

David N Spring hill Fla, You can get a new gasket from the Outdoor Kitchen Store on Kennedy Blvd in Tampa ( 813-875 4337 ). They shiped me one to Ocala a few months back for about $15.Follow the instructions it pretty simple.I also had the grate at the bottom of the firebox crack last winter and they replaced for shipping only. They are first class.

David N Spring hill Fla,
The easiest thing to do is replace the gasket with a replacement from BGE. You can call Atlanta or if you have a dealer nearby, they might have one or can order one. Here is a link to my FAQ on replacing gaskets:[p][li]Gasket FAQ[p]What I do is use a razor blade scraper to get it off and any residue adhesive, then wipe clean with alcohol. It isn't hard. Good luck![p]TNW[p]
