Panko Tilapia Recipe Posted
The Naked Whiz
Posts: 7,777
I just posted the Panko-encrusted tilapia recipe on my website. It ain't so much the ingredients (in my opinion, of course) as it was the results of the crispy bottom and the toasted tops. I don't know if how I did it had anything to do with the results, but I cooked them at 300 for a few minutes and let the heat climb to 400 at the end. Anyway, there it is if you want to have some fun with Panko![p]TNW

<p />The Naked Whiz,[p]read it? h*ll, I read the entire recipe on your website.

No questions! I wonder about the milk and breading... a little. it definitely sounds worth trying, but I'll reserve the fresh-caught and try it with something else for the first go-round.[p]The current fresh-caught coho (I think I finally got a photo attached) is in a tasty marinade, slated for a medium-slow alder starting tomorrow. [p]I'll let you know. I may do it on foil, as you've suggested. On the old grill, I just threw it into a
glass baking dish... There's so much to learn and try![p]yours aye,

The Naked Whiz,
Thanks for posting the recipe. I tried it last night, and it was great. I mixed the Raging River with the Panko, which worked pretty well, though there was some left that didn't adhere to the fish. One thing I did differently was to turn the fish after about 10 minutes, which resulted in brown and crisp on both sides. We ended up with essentially fried fish without the indoor mess and smell! Delicious. Thanks again.
Cheers,
Gretl
