Sorry, couldn't help myself. This was going on yesterday at work and I couldn't help thinking BGE as I snapped about 100 photos. This is part of a $22 million incinerator project at the local sewage plant. Won't be any good eats in here; the whole thing will burn about 5,500 lbs (dry weight) per hour of, ummm, residual solids. For anyone in the business out there, it's an IDI Fluidized Bed Incinerator. We already have one that's 15 years old, on its last legs. The gas stream going through the plenum shown will be about 1400 degrees. But hey, no lump needed! Ya get this stuff dry enough (we use high speed centrifuges) and it burns by itself!!
