  • Bruce,
You just come up one you like and start using it.
I have had the name Jwirlwind since 1994 when I first signed onto AOL. I have Time Warner Road Runner now using cable. Jwirlwind comes from a name I have for my construction company. WhirlWind Construction Company. J comes from my name Jerry, hince Jwirlwind[p]Jerry

  • djm5x9,
Bruce is used by many others also. I thought the nickname was bestowed by others.

    Bruce,
You usually just come up with something clever on your own. Once we get to know you better, if you want, we could hold a vote and give you one. However, you risk getting something comical, like fighter pilots give each other when they are first starting out. I'd probably get "lumpy" or "flash" if we voted now. I'd suggest you pick your own handle before someone gives you one, LOL!!

Bruce,[p]I don't post often, but love this site more than any I have ever visited. I've had my egg (large) for four years. I love the threads more than I can say and have tried just about every reciept that has been posted. Learned more here than any book could ever teach you. What ever handle you pick will be accepted by everyone. Caney comes from a river branch called of all things "Caney Branch". I was raised in north Florida. Being from the south, my Dad grew cane. The handle just seemed natural.[p]Caney

    Bruce,
I was on the forum for a year posting under my own name until an appropriate handle just sort of presented itself one day. Its almost like you develop an identity by participating, and at some point an appropriate handle grows out of that. That's the way it was for me anyway. [p]Brett

    Bruce,
I got mine from some friends that eat the Q that I make all the time. First name is Bobby, so they just always ask if I'll be making any Bobby-Q when they come over.[p]They even registered that name for me on the web and did the splash page. I guess one day I'll get around to updating with pictures and links to all of y'all's cool pages.

    Bruce,
My wife was kind enough to give me my nickname. Just another term of endearment!

    Bruce,
Or, you could be known as the BBQ'r formerly known as Bruce.[p]One way to get a nick name is to screw up pretty well. Someone will tag you with that event, so it will live in infamy, and you will live in shame. I mean, what are friends for? :-)[p]1044

    Bruce,
There was a school close to my first car wash. The kids would take field trips to the car wash. When leaving I would give them a coupon worth a free $4 wash to give to the parents.
When out for dinner 1 night a kid was yelling at his parents "There is Car Wash Mike", so I used it on the forum.[p]CWM

Bruce,[p]No prizes for guessing how I made up mine :)[p]By the way, Aussies living in England are sometimes called Bruce, a throw back to some telly show many years ago. So maybe you could call yourself 'Sir Bruce'?[p]Cheers,
    Hugh.

    Bruce,
beginning of my email address since right after college. Easy to remember and I am not creative at all. (Except in cooking)
