My second attempt at Trex. This Steak was at least 2". It looked more like a roast.

90 seconds and turned
450 degrees on a raised grid
Let's Eat!!!!
Sorry I didn't get a sliced pic.....but once I sliced it I couldn't help myself!!!1

Looks perfect! My favorite way to do steaks.

How do you get the temperature to drop quickly? My problem is when I let it get higher than I want, it seems to take forever to drop for me even tho I close the top and bottom vents to tiny slits.

First, thanks to all for the comments! It means a lot coming from you Egg Pros. PattyO, in order to get my temp down, I shut my vents to a minimum (Peep hole on the daisy wheel and 1/4"on the bottom vent) By the time the steak rests for 20min per the Trex process, my grill is cooled down to between 400 and 450 degrees.

zflava, this is the first post that I've read about TREX steak. Do you have a link that you can send me that explains the process. The pics look great.
Thanks!Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

Good looking steak man! I agree, it's hard to beat the Trex method.

Hawg Fan, this is where I learned it along with a number of other things. This is one of my favorite sites. I'm sure you probably know about the nakedwhiz.
