Pick up the small green egg this week-end. I know how to do indirect on my large one but what is the best way to set up the small egg for indirect?

Don Allen, go by Davens Ceramic when you attend Eggtoberfest and pick up a 13 inch kiln shelf/pizza stone. Draw a 9 inch circle(use a pie pan) and leave 3 "legs" extending out the full 13 inches ; then cut out your plate setter. Or you can use the BGE ceramic pie pan with an extra grill to hold it. The BGE pan does take more vertical space and reduce cooking area...a problem in the small on occasion(ribs, etc).

Don Allen,
slagamater has a good suggestion below. Another is to use bolts, washers, nuts to make legs. Yet another possibility, and one I use a lot, is to take a full size firebrick, split into 3 equal pieces, and use those for legs for your second grill....the drip pan (or indirect barrier) goes on the lower grill, and the upper grate sits on the firebricks.[p]Shout if you have any more questions.
Have fun, the small is an awesome little cooker.
