Largest Butt?
Fellow Eggers, What was the approximate weight of the largest butt you have ever cooked? Other than the obvious, cooking time and yield, are there any pros or cons in butt size? (We be talking about pig) My typical butt has been 5-8lb. I spotted some boneless 10-11 pounders today at 1.29lb. Your comments please.
Best,
Gary

EggingOn,
Good question. I saw some whole ones at Sam's yesterday in the 16-18 lb range. Yikes!

Dr Redwine:[p]What you probably saw was a pair of vacuum packaged butts. Typically a butt is in the eight-pound range and some retailers will halve them and repackage for those that are interested in smaller quantities.

EggingOn,
The biggest butt I have found was 9.5 pounds, the butcher said it was one of the larger ones he had seen.
