Mark
Posts: 295
I am cooking Butts for a tailgate party this Saturday. We will have 12 adults, how many pounds should I cook? Also, does anyone know the approximate capacity of a large egg.[p]Thanks

Mark,
You should be able to get 2.5 - 2.9 servings per lb of uncooked butt. An 8 lb butt will produce 20 - 24 pulled pork sandwiches on small hamburger buns. So ... to be safe ... could (2) six lb or (2) 7's and you can eat all day! [p]Enjoy.

Mark,
If you use a raised grid or a grid extender, you can fit 4 butts in a large easy peasy. If you get creative, I should think 5 or 6 would be possible.[p]TNW

The Naked Whiz,[p]Thanks, I think I'm leaning towards doing 4 butts. I never complain about leftovers.
