I put a post on the forum yesterday on how to calibrate the thermometer on the BGE. I got several informative replies. Thanks! My problem is I damaged the thermometer
removing it from the Egg. Should I replace it with another BGE thermometer of an aftermarket one. If
aftermarket is the way to go, please give as much info as possible (make, model # etc).

Thanks,

Kemo

I would replace it with a Tel-Tru thermometer. My experience with the BGE thermometers was not goo, so I replaced them all with Tel-Tru. Here's some information:

    Which Tel-Tru?

    Good luck!

  • I second the Tel-Tru recommendation. I accidently bent one of my BGE thermometers, and picked up a couple of Tel-Tru's to replace both Eggs' thermos. I've had them for about a year now, and they've worked great. I use the metal clip on the outside to make up for the longer stem. They're a good price (under $20 each when I got mine), and I just bought them direct from Tel-Tru's website.
