What is the lowest temp I should be able to get with my large egg? How exactly do I get that low temp without shutting it down? Thanks so much

Mine will cruise on 250 dome til the lump runs out.If I were gonna try to cook lower I would buy a pit tending gadget or be sure to check it often.

Using a Digi-Q, I have maintained 180* for 4 hours when smoking a ham or buckboard bacon.

How low do you want to get, and for what purpose. If you are talking about cold smoking cheese, you can keep the Egg around 80-90 degrees.The Naked Whiz

Also, as mentioned before, if you could go rename the subject line of repeated posts to nm I think everyone would appreciate it. It's one of those forum common courtesy things (on par to TYPING ALWAYS IN CAPS) -
CHeck out my recipes page and look under fish for smoked salmon, beef for jerky and miscellaneous for cheese. There are recipes for cold smoking or low smoking these items. Good luck!
