Went to my local Academy Sports store and was looking in the BBQ area and found 9 pound bags of apple wood chunks for $7.99. I took 3 bags since apple chunk are hard to find here. I talk to a manager last month about carring apple chunks. It took some time but now they are carring the chunks not just chipps. It is nice when a store listin to the customer.

Manfred, I've recently realized that apple is my favorite smoking wood, wish I had a source like that as I don't recall ever seeing it in my travels, gonna need to go find an apple orchard & saw off a branch :ermm:  :laugh:happy in the hut

Nine pounds for $7.99 is a good price. I pay $1.99 a pound for mine.

We have had a lot of rain from the storms this week. I was driving down the street when I saw that a neighbor had a pecan tree blow down. I will be over there getting lots of pecan wood. Sad for him good for me. Happy egging
