Despite rain squalls and the batteries in my remote thermometer dying in the last hour of the cook it was great. Not sure which site I found the rain cap made from a coffee can on, but it works great. It took about 12 1/2 hrs. to cook a 3 1/2 lb. butt at an average of 225* to 230* except for the last hour which I bumped up to 300*. Next time I will try maybe 240* to 250* to shorten the cook up a little. Thanks to everyone on this site for all the info, Jim.

jbrodie,
I am not sure there is an exact time for Egging butts.
These took 16 hours and 30 minutes. Dome at 240 and internal pulled at 195. They were great. [p]Jerry

Jim,[p]I'm a BGE newbie and have yet to do a butt. That is a pretty picture of your efforts. Did you use a drip pan under the port butt?
Cheers,
Skipper
