Help with a Brisket

I just bought a egg 1 week ago and love it!!!! I am smoking my first brisket. It is 2.5 to 3 lbs and has been on the grill for 4 hours. I do not have a meat thermometer - how do I know when it is done?????????? Should it is just pull apart? It seems tough right now. Did I grill it too long???? Thanks so much
