Anyone tried Okra on the Egg? I put a few on a couple weeks back with some chicken and they were pretty awesome. Of course, I do like OKRA. And the Coronas were going down real easy that evening. Gonna give them another test this evening...[p]Tar Heel

<p />THSM:[p]I am not sure about that grilled okra . . . I have had it cooked many ways, but not grilled. Looking forward to your second report.[p]I do find they go well when cooked with tomatoes and Vidalia onions and served as a side. They also are great served as a side or appetizer when pickled.
  • djm5x9,[p]You da' man. We're talking Bloody Mary's with pickled Okra. My tomatoes are about shot but the okra are still kicking...
  • Tar Heel Smokey Mon,
Want to talk about OKRA? Check this website out. This is where I live in Irmo South Carolina. This suburbia town is ten miles from Columbia and two miles from Lake Murray. A great place to live.[p]www.townofirmosc.com[p]Jerry

  • Tar Heel Smokey Mon,[p]Evidently, someone HAS done this. [p]Lee

    djm5x9,
Man, I can smell my Grandma's kitchen! Okra is one of those rare gifts like oysters and gizzards that far too many folks never cross the line to savor. Great stuff, and Great pic![p]Mike

Wow... the Okra looks sooo good. Can't find okra up here in my neck of the woods in Maryland. Only frozen at the grocery. I like 'em pickled and fried.

Zeke:[p]Those came from the garden last year, as did the pickled asparagus. If you are unable to grow them you should be able to get them from a local farmers market by the peck . . .
  • Tar Heel Smokey Mon, i had okra most of my life but this way does sound interesting. man! your post makes me wish i was still living in va beach! good luck with your bbq okra.
