I need a good recipe for breakfast pizza. I would like for it to include bacon or sausage with eggs, bell peppers, onions, cheese etc.[p]I know I can combine some or all the above, but how can I get the eggs properly done?[p]Thanks.
Doug

usa doug, Perhaps poach them or sunny side up on the side and then add them with some cheese topping at the end.
Tostidos makes a Salsa Queso (has a little bite) that I use on an egg burrito....that might be good on your pizza. Let us know what you come up with. I am sure others would be interested.[p]CB

    usa doug,
you've got me thinking. Why not use eggs with herbs instead of tomato sauce as a base then put in the sausage, peppers and onions before topping with cheese. 15 minutes at 450 should cook everything I would think.

  • usa doug,[p]Sounds like a wonderful breakfast for Saturday morning at Crestwood. [p]I don't think you can do it like you planned but a fellow could cook the eggs first in a skillet and then put them on the pizza. [p]Another option which I do pretty often is to make a casserole of this treat. I usually use a 9X13 glass dish and just pile it full of sausage, bacon, ham chunks, bout 10-12 eggs, chopped bell peppers and onions, a few hot peppers, and maybe about 5-6 slices of bread which I kinda tear up into 4-5 chunks per slice. I usually add some milk as well. I then add about 2 pounds of cheese and sprinkle the top with some hot paprika. I just put it on the cooker and wait until it is done. I would guess it takes about 2-3 hours on a cooker running at contest temps to get this done. [p]I haven't tried this but I think it would work. Why not roll out the pizza dough to fit the 9X13 pan and have it real thin and place it into the glass pan and kinda mold it around the sides? Then do the above and see it it would work. [p]Another way to kick this up is to fry about 4 potatoes in thin slices and put this in the casserole.[p]Dave[p] [p]Dave

    usa doug,
When I was going up, mom used to make breakfast pizza on the weekends.
She would use the cressant roll dough from pilsbury and make a crust. She would pre-bake the crust until firm and cook the meats ahead of time.[p]She would pour the uncoooked eggs, cooked meat and veggies on to the firm crust. Top with shredded cheese when the eggs are done.[p]It cooks like a quiche ... probably around 350 or 375. The eggs will set. Just don't make it a deep dish. :)[p]It was alway tasty ... especially with some hot sauce.[p]I might have to try this on the egg on Sunday.[p]Doug [p]Ps - I saw you at Ribberfest and I was going to introduce myself but never got around to it. I was over cooking on the eggs. I will be judging this weekend at Crestwood.[p]

    usa doug,
I have been thinking about trying this for a long time but have not had the chance.[p]What about taking a regular pizza dough for crust, use some sausage gravy for the sauce.[p]Throw on whatever else you might think and some semi-soft scrambled eggs too. Top with your fav cheese and bake.[p]I think it may be good, but then again...[p]-Kevin

  • Squeeze,
Look up the breakfast pizza recipe in the Kraft Crescent Roll adds. Works great on the egg.
