The 5th Annual Ohio Brew Week Festival is July 11-17th, 2010 in Athens, OH. It is the only week long craft brew festival in the world. Every micro brewery in the state participates and is paired with a bar or restuarant in Athens. Some of the highlights are a cooking competition, a brewers feast, comdey night, ladies night and the big event is the Brew BBQ Cook-Off on Friday July 16 with the grand prize being a BIG GREEN EGG. Rules available at Ohiobrewweek.com. But basically your entry has to include a micro-brew in the recipe somewhere. Ohio Craft beers prefered but knowing many are not from Ohio a crafte beer will do. (rules may say Ohio) annd you must provide 75 sample portions. There are lots of prizes, raffles, door prizes at every event,(to many to list). The festival ends with Boogie on the Bricks a huge community block party. They close the streets and there is live music all night. The micro-brews will be available here too and so will the brewers.
