I own a large (18.25 inch) BGE. Can you recommend (and source for it) a wok for this BGE? Thanks, Dave Brent

  • Dave Brent,
most kitchen supply stores and/or bbq supply stores sell the four sided square enameled grill woks (they have lots of little holes about the size of hole punch hole). . .works really great for stir frying vegies, small shrimp, etc. .. i put it direct on the grid and its great. . i've sort of developed the technique of putting the wok in the egg at around 400 - 500 degrees. . .throwing the food in, tossing it, closing the lid, then every couple of minutes opening the lid long enough to toss again. . .until done. . this prevents flare ups pretty well. . [p]i also just bought (haven't even used it yet) a large round grill wok from crate and barrel. .. it fits in the large egg perfectly and should hold a lot of food. . .its stainless steel as opposed to enameled, so it will probably get pretty grungy, but what the heck, its for use on the egg anyway . .. Dave Brent,
Are you looking for a chinese wok, or a grill topper wok?[p]As Max below mentioned, the square contraption with the round holes works great on the egg....however I don't care for the porcelain (or enamel) coated ones. The stuff chips off after some use with real high temps. Check out the stainless version. Moocho bettario.[p]Cheers!
    Chris
