Cooking barefoot

Lounging around at the end of a three day weekend...decided to cook burgers and dogs on the egg. Shorts and a tshirt...no shoes.[p]Fired up the egg and got the temp very hot. Cooked the burgers and dogs. As I'm pulling the last burger off the grill, I step forward and land on a good sized coal that came out of the open vent door down below. One of those experiences where you feel something and then the pain hits.[p]Lesson learned---cook with some sandals or shoes on.[p]Well....the burgers sure were good!

    Txegg,
You lives and you learns. For my part, I got a really nasty cut on my index finger this morning while peeling the "safety" seal off a jar of peanut butter. Basic indignities and ironic/poetic justice seldom converge like this, at least in my experience. For this, I am thankful.[p]Bob

    Txegg,
A friend of mine decided to fry catfish on his outdoor rig while wearing shorts and no shoes. You can imagine the rest. It was real bad...real bad.

WooDoggies,[p]And if you're not grilling barefoot, then hold your arm and expensive digital camera over a hot Egg to take a picture of yourself with your first completed butt...[p]640x480meandthebutt.jpg

WooDoggies,[p]Thanks Woodoggies. My family and neighbors realized how hooked I was when I was mad yesterday about forgetting to take pictures of Friday night's butts and Sunday's loin. I was also mad that I hadn't immediately updated the box that contains cars where I fill out what I made, for whom, conditions, details, etc.[p]Despite their mocking, my head is still held high...[p]
  • BBQBluesStringer, yep I betcha could get a good cure for that ,kinda like splashin on the aqua velva before you put on your drawers, cept ner near as bad.

    <p />Hey Chet,[p]Those are grilled oyster mushrooms.
Brushed with olive oil, sprinkled with Tsunami Spin and grilled around 400 until brown on the edges...... they'll convert you to vegetarianism.[p]I tried frog gigging once...... it broke my heart and haven't had frog legs since.[p]John

Mark Backer,[p]Todd, whether you like it or not, I think you're the next poster child for the egg..... and all of the goofy glory that comes with it. I'm glad you're here! :~)[p]Hey Mr. Earl...... are you listening....when are the awards?[p][p]

WooDoggies,[p]I appreciate that, Woodoggies. I don't mind that, and I'd carry the mantle with honor, to the shame of my immediately family. [p]I am still stunned at how many people say "oh, I've heard of that green grill thingy. What's it all about?"[p]What's it all about indeed, I say. Today, I brought four pounds of leftover butt to work to share, and word's spread like wildfire since I brought in a little last monday. Everyone wants to have a try. [p]I may have to seriously consider a side job of selling these things, because people realize that if a grilling hack like me can make food this good, literally anyone can.

WooDoggies,[p]Those look awfully close to something my parents call Sheep Head mushrooms. The Sheep Head shrooms are also really, really good. In fact I get hungry everytime I think about how they taste.[p]Keep em Smokin,
