DE MOLDING AN EGG

Unknown
edited -0001 30 in EggHead Forum
I went out of town for a few weeks and came back to find mold growing in my egg. Allot of it. Is the best way to clean it to just fire it up really hot and burn it out?? Has anybody experienced this before?[p]Thanks for the input.[p]

    Egg Fan,
I had this happen twice in 7~8 years. I just fired it up and let it get hot and then settled back on my temp of choice and scraped the grill and was good to go.
Finished the cook and everything was fine after that.[p] But if you shut down the Egg when its hot and let it sit idle for several days I guess it produces a lot of steam inside and that will cause the mold if the conditions of high humidity and temperatures are correct?[p]It never seems to happen in colder parts of the year? so for me its never been a problem :).
