Thinking about trying this one, has anyone done this before and do you think they will be like the Cracker Barrel ones they use to have wrappe in brown paper bags? I'm scanning cause I can't remember to prf read my post and they are usually a mess.[p]rosin-bakedpotatoes.jpg

    Chet,
I've read about that. Why the rosin? Why not oil if you are going to fry them? Thanks!

  • The Naked Whiz, two thoughts come to mind , first I don't think this will be considered fried but rather it would be more like baked in this substance that retains the moisture. Kinda like the Mexicans do pulled pork and call it carnitas, I've personally seen them do it in huge deep pots with enough lard that will cover all the meat and the cooking process is low enough temp that it never does nothing but simmer. The other "guess" is I believe that rosin imparts some flavor, but just a guess.

Chet,[p]I've seen reference to this type of cooking before. Do you know, can you really get "cooking" rosin? How would it be sold? [p]Chuck
