now, i'm not gonna tell you which of us does it which way so there is no bias.. . . but for 28 years of marriage now, the wife and i have been eating our corn on the cob 2 completely different ways .. .
1 of us eats it by eating in concentric circles, going completely around the cob in a circle, then moving over and going around in a complete circle again ....
the other 1 of us eats our corn on the cob like a typewriter, starting on one end and eating completely across the cob, then going back and starting over.. .
we each think the other one is a raving lunatic or a communist for the way the other one eats their corn on the cob. .. its a wonder our marriage has lasted all these years as every year when corn season rolls around we have the same old argument!!!. . ..and the kids even join in!! (and i won't say how the spawn or sam eat theirs - well, sam is in braces, so he cuts his off the cob right now)....
so here's the question ... how do YOU eat your corn on the cob?? in concentric circles?? or like a typewriter??

Max,
I eat mine in circles. I might add from left to right, being I'm left handed. I'll do that till I die.

I usually take a knife, cut one kernel at time off and eat it that way. That is the only way I know how to eat it so I may have to try biting it off next time....will get back to you on the pattern I take.Kevin Jacques

I geaux left to right - what's a typewriter?
Concentric circles? That is a circle, inside a circle, inside a circle, inside a circle, etc. Max, are you eating the cob as well? -
Max,
Never seen a circle style corn eater.
Like a typewriter...jeeze  -
KayNOcook and I are both switch hitters sometimes it's like a typewriter and sometimes in circles, we are just a confused couple. Most of the time I eat mine one row at a time like a typewriter.
Hope everyone enjoys Sweet Corn season.

But this poll is trivial. I'm waiting for the "how do you peel your banana" poll.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
grew up in a family that when we had corn for dinner we only had corn, 3 dozen ears at a meal and it was a race to the end. too hot to eat like a type writer, round one end, then the other end, then back to the cooler end, round and round switching from end to end. suppose if you could let it cool down first you could eat right across, but then someone else would be eating your share. when i went to college i found out that corn was a side dish  i watch people putting butter on with a butter knife, thats more amusing than how they eat it. we always rolled the cob on the stick of butter but lately been peeling the paper off one end and applying like chapstick  when i read the subject line i thought it must be how to cook it. we just toss the whole cob unpeeled with the silk in place on the grill, no soaking in water or nothingfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I should be peeling bananas? No wonder they were tough

Typewriter style, left to right, big end to small end.
-
I'd like to know how many people have used nails for their cob holders. If so, what size?
With me, more often than not. And, usually a 10 or 12 penny common.

corn poll...corn poll...why does it seem to me that that rhymes with something?
Fun poll, Max. I'm a circle-eater. I haven't paid attention to how my wife eats it. -
Typewriter!

i have to assume that the typewriter folks let their pizzas cool as well. that would never work in my house, another race and everyone burned the roof of their mouths or they were left out   :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

The only way to eat corn according to the Aztec Indians is typewriter style.
But the real question is do you use a carriage return or double back method?

Typewriter!
Circle eaters are plain crazy. -
for the last bit at the narrow end, which I eat last in a circle.
-
I thought corn came in a can. No?
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I perform a ziz zag motion, one row over, one row down, repeat.
-
I eat in rows, Karen circular. She is wrong!
-
I do a combination. I eat the ends off in circles and when I can clear a space for each hand I change to the typewriter style. Soooo what does that say about me? :blink:Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

Does he cut each kernal into bite sized pieces?
-
-
I do both...I start in circles until I get about 3 rows in and then I go typewriter style....
