I noticed the Firebox has a crack on the side. Is it something to be concerned with ? Cook went o.k. anyways.

Thanks.

I have not had that problem, but it shows up every week on here and many, many folks just keep on cookin'. I'm sure some will chime in.

Should be no problem for months. If you are the original owner, no worries, covered under warranty. Call your dealer and the will replace it for free.

I had one crack after two years. The dealer replaced it very fast under warranty but it took me 6 months to get around to swapping the new one out with the old cracked one. It doesn't affect performance at all.

Both of my fireboxes are now cracked. I went to my local distributor who assured me that replacements were easily provided. In fact, he showed me the new and improved firebox that I would be getting. It looked like my original fireboxes, with one difference. There was a line cut in the ceramic firebox that appeared similar to the "naturally occuring" cut in mine. Therefore, It seemed like a waste to replace an old cracked firebox with a brand new cut one. As far as I can tell, the crack or cut can only help the air enter the firebox more freely anyway.
