On Strike...it's not my fault!

In a sub-plot too complicated to get into, the architect says that the addition/deck will not be able to be started until NEXT SPRING. So...the concrete slab's gone, the back area's devoid of turf, and the access to my Eggs is now a sea of mud. The Eggs have been moved and are somewhere behind a blue spruce; I can't even see them from the kitchen. [p]Okay, I'm not a whiner, and there isn't anything I can do personally to remedy this terrible situation. I decided to make the best of a bad situation. So...last night I seasoned chicken thighs with rub, set them on a rack in the indoor oven at 450, roasted them until 160, drained the fat, added a really good Asian plum sauce, and let them finish to 180. The result was a pan of beautiful chicken, tender, juicy, well-browned. AND COMPLETELY DEVOID OF FLAVOR. We decided it tasted like cafeteria food. [p]The result of this one glimpse of Life Without Eggs? I get a temporary deck, to be started immediately. Should be done when we return from Ireland.
Cheers,
Gretl
