I've done 2 cooks so far, low and slow ribs at temp 225 and a pizza at temp 500. The gasket is burned a little all the way around, maybe 1/8 inch, with a 8 inch section burn almost 1/4 in. Is this normal? When I heated up the egg for the pizza cook, the temp did get up to 600 for a little while, but not over. Had no flashback.

Yazoo,
ah
no big deal, as long as there's no leak.[p]do the top/bottom align?
it can't burn unless it sees direct flame...[p]anyway
mine was toast for a long time, and it still worked great, especially caked with fatty goop and soot. it makes its own gasket!
