Hand crafted mini table
Clay Q
Posts: 4,486
Just finished this beauty and it feels good when I see my tables completed and ready to go. I selected the wood which is quarter sawn white oak and finished with Watco Teak oil. There is a natural beauty in this wood that I truly enjoy. This table is transportable, legs unfold and the table top has brass snap connectors for assembly that takes a few seconds. The base that the mini rests on is made from a pizza stone, not BGE. There is a lot of detail in this design,... its a labor of love.
Here are a few pic's.

That is really cool! If it was mine, I would market it. It would sell all day long! Great work! I love the real wood look!

AWESOME Clay! :woohoo: That is a true thing of beauty. I love the Teak Oil as well, that stuff is great! Really like your sausage handle on the mini. I gotta talk the wifey into letting get one of those little guys!!!

That is more than a table, that is a work of art. Almost hate to see it get used and dirty...almost! I completely agree with the other comments that you could easily sell that. I bet if you go to a local event and people see it they will be asking for one.

Man that thing is wonderful!!!! That is a beautiful piece of work and it would be great to patent it! I don't see why it wouldn't work fer all sizes! Great job! :P
I also like the handle that looks like a link of sausage!!! You are a true craftsman!!!!Hunting-Fishing-Cookin' on my EGG! Nothing else compares! -
That table is fantastic. :woohoo: I really like the teak oil. That is what I'm using on my table that I'm building at the moment.Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

Outstanding workmanship! Quartered White Oak is some of the best, excelent for outdoors also. Being a stairbuilder, I can appreciate the planning and work that went into that fine table.

Eggcellent work Clay. I love seeing your cooks & woodwork. Keep it up.

Very nice work indeed. This is worthy of submission to Woodworker magazine if you ask me.
I must ask though, where did you acquire the sausage handle?Large BGE. Southeast Pennsylvania. @BrianObst -

Thanks Kim.

Thanks for your kind words. :cheer: I'd like to get a website up with pictures someday. Well I'm going to see if I can design and build a table for the Large Egg and bring it down to Eggwegofest (the Illinois eggfest) in September. Stay tuned for that!!!
Here is the Grand Prize raffle winner of this years Sunshine State Eggfest in Florida. Many tickets were sold and it was a fun event with a lot of excitement. :woohoo:

Thanks, your comments mean a lot to me.
Design work is very extensive. Fortunately I have AutoCAD but a lot of concept sketching is done by hand on note pads, the old fashion way. KD joinery is also very time consuming to design and for outdoor furniture there are critical requirements and obstacles to overcome.
I'm working on a design for the large egg. Stay tuned for a table with 5 legs!
