First a side note - Molly will you get rid of that damn voodoo doll you are playing with.

At 10am it is supposed to be warm(er) this time of year especially here in the valley. Some of the stupid ski resorts are still open with great skiing. At one of the lower resorts 10 inches of new snow but 603 inches of snow fall, come-on enough is enough already. Well I guess the locals are going to have a great time skiing. Tomorrow 65°, 10" new powder, and the boys & girls locals will be in their swim suits. Sure wish I had a sun lotion kiosk.

For me, well this is how it is.

snowmay24_1.jpg

snowmay24_2.jpg

Lost all tomato plants and basil, thyme, peppers (bells, jalapeno, serrano & anaheim's).

Enough is enough, if it's snow'n or there is even a cloud in the sky the eggs arn't gett'n warm and I am staying inside for the duration until there is no snow and it is at least 40°.

    That's just mean!!!

Cooler than normal where you are at would be wonderful and I would be a happy camper.

Haven't seen you much since Vegas, you get lost up there and did the girls survive your absence?

    GG
  • And here we are externally, unseasonably warm!!!
I’m thinking that I hate the “hot” weather (high 80’s, even in the 90’s just two hours south) as much as you want the snow to end.
So, is there global warming and “odd” weather patterns as a result? Or am I just looking for an excuse / reason?
What I can say is that we have had some REALLY odd weather for the past few years!

X country skiing would be absolutely fantastic tomorrow.

This is the latest in the year it has ever snowed. Normally mid winter it isn't all that unusual to get -20° for a little while... Summer not unusual to have a few days of 118°. That's OK mid winter & mid summer but enough is enough.

I think it is all egor's fault. Oh, I guess I should Al Gore's - the weather and the internet.

Global warming, we'll wake up the dead if we get that subject going.

Sorry about that GG, didn't want to be mean. Just saw on the news Salt Lake city is getting snow.

Now, I'm real honest, just got out of detox about 4 days ago, was in a real bad way. Friend from the pub took me home and talked me into going in. Had an amulance and 2 squad cars here, why the squad cars I have no clue. Hell I went in and got a glass of V to drink while waiting for the amulance.

Doing fine right now but it's tough. LOL

Hope you get some warm weather soon.

  • Skiing would be a blast! I love to ski.
I have however put the skis away for the season!
With NO snow in March or April…And then just a bit (2” to 5”) with a storm in May I took them from their winter position at the back door, gave then the summer wax job, and moved them to the summer position in the garage!
    Regarding global warming….
Anybody can call it what they want, but the weather patterns have been weird as hell (Maybe that’s it!!! Satan is on a roll…) for the past few years!
No matter, I wish it would cool off a bit here. It really has been approaching miserable, if not already there!

I was laughing when I read your post...

Glad you got some help my friend and things are a bit better.

Out here when an ambulance goes to a home call the cops show up for several reasons. Safety for the ambulance crew, make sure there is no foul play to the person being helped and in most cases there is some fees attached that go to the county.

It was amazing to watch the tomato plants. I had a few quarter size tomatoes on the plants. This morning about 10am the plants were their usual green by noon the green got darker and darker. This evening almost black. I have never seen the tomato plants go so bad so quick.

    You take care of yourself.

The snow is deeeeep out this way. It looks like one resort will be open well into June, pretty unusual. I expect the skiing will be pretty good for another couple of weeks then so so for another week or two. So so skiing out this way is a packed base and packed snow.
Great skiing is deep powder on some slopes and well groomed runs on other slopes. It has been a really great year for the resorts.

I can hardly wait to be able to complain about being too hot. :)

GG, I know, I couldn't believe when I looked out the blinds this morning and saw all the snow. I guess someone forgot to tell Utah we were experiencing global warming.

I don't know, Kent: a good tornado is a great way to insta-trim those pesky tree limbs, and just maybe all the debris will end up in the next county or two, which always helps with yard cleanup. :P

I seen the pictures and there is nothing clean about it. Those things seem to make little pieces out of big things. Makes me think of the movie Twister - "we got cows".

I'll send some snow your way.

No slopes for me... If I fell I would never stop, and when I hit the bottom of the slope I would be a huge snowball and it would just take till the end of summer to thaw out.

All I can say is you didn't get enough winter. :)

From what I heard on the news it got down to 3° Monday morning. We will be in the low 60° today, maybe I will stick my head out. Night time we shouldn't be getting below low 40's or high 30's until fall.

Tough we would can some tomatoes this year and for 3 weeks I had been moving 12 tomato plants into the garage every night, until Sunday night. The low was supposed to be 41°, once again the weatherguessers were off.

BTW, still not sure if I like the TG or not, I haven't done any overnight cooks with it yet.

Hope you are doing better. Kent

I am loving it, I dont use the large very much anymore. You know the funny thing about it is, you learn to use your space more efficiently when you downsize your egg. I find myself saying that the mini could serve a lot of my grilling needs. I am ordering the AR this week, and the stoker is next on my hit list, but I think the Mini is the next item after that.

GG, by the way, when you are ready to part with your small, my brother in Sugarhouse is ready to buy it. He got that mini from ksl a month back or so, and is looking to go bigger ...

Sort of the same thing, when I got my mini I ended up putting the small aside. I think I have only 4 or 5 cooks on the small it is still quite white inside.

Now that you have the small I am not sure if I would get a mini. I have from the large on down and doing it over I think I would like 2 larges and a mini.
