Do my ribs have pleura I need to remove

Just bought a few rack of back ribs from costco and i cant tell if their is pleura i need to remove? How can you tell? I tried removing what I thought was it but it doesnt seem to be coming off so im not sure if its pleura.

Yeah, all ribs have a membrane, actually they have two. The thin outermost one is the one you want to remove. It is transparent. The thicker one underneath actually holds the ribs themselves together. This picture is showing some spare ribs, but it is a good example of what to look for.

Sometimes, the membrane is torn during processing and the packers remove it for you.

My last 2 packages of babybacks from Costco had no membranes..and people here told me that costco always removes them now....so he may not have anything to remove...your pic should let him know..

Babybacks yes, but spares no. I got the Costco spares about 3-4 weeks ago here in Fla, and had to remove the membrane.

You just never know.... I prepped 15 racks yesterday and only one didn't have a membrane on them.
