Brisket prices down?

Just for an update on prices on Briskets in Michigan. The price of briskets at Walmart are down to $1.98 lb. Was $2:28 lb. Just bought a 13.5 pounder for this weekend. Should be fun!

I've cooked brisket the last 2 weekends and the price is up here in Tulsa. The first was a nice 7 lb flat at my butcher shop and I paid $25.90. The second was a 16 lb whole brisket from Sams and I paid $26.15. The second brisket I separated the point from the flat and cooked them both at the same time. I sliced the flat and chopped the point. I ended up with more meat, but I had to spend some time trimming and separating the brisket.

Brisket is a wonderful cook, but those days of .99 lb are long gone.

Sorry, I sound so stupid, but I only see on the package that it was approved USDA.
Only other thing is says PLU NO. 1573? Does this help?

People need to learn, my first class I taught was grades of beef, chicken, and different cuts.

If it not marked..it is called no roll and that is the lowest grade of beef.

It goes... Prime, choice, select and no roll

Same thing here in NE KS . . . no grade and when I asked the meat dept. person, all I got was a dumb look!

Awesome!! I always get my packers there. They use to be cheaper like 1.68 but this price drop is good timing. I need to buy one for a high school grad party we are throwing.
