NICE EGG STORY IN THE NATIONAL POST
Toronto James
Posts: 26
There was a nice story about the Egg in the National Post July 27. I can't seem to find it on their website but perhaps others more websavy than I can.[p]There is a funny story the author tells on himself about cooking his first chicken. he takes it off and closes all the vents to damp down the fire then realizes that the bird needs a bit more cooking so puts it back on, opens the top and bottom vents full and just goes to read a newspaper article. He loses track of time and when he checks back finds a foot high flame blasting out the top :-)[p]I'm worried with all the great publicity I see these days -- might our cult be going mainstream?[p]What's for dinner?

Gretl Collins,[p]I operate under several names depending on where I'm posting. On the Foodwine list I'm Texas Chris and here I'm just plain old Chris! Insert grin!

toronto james, from the story....
"Remove the lid-valve altogether and let it get even hotter and you can lower skewered meat through the chimney as if it were a tandoor. Thinking up the possibilities makes for enjoyable weekends."
Sounds like his weekends would be a stay at the local burn ward!!
