Brisket ?

I had a brisket in the freezer for like 2 months. So I took it out Sunday to thaw. WWell now I cant cook it until Friday.Will it be good in the fridge that long thawed out.I hate to waste a 14 pound piece of meat.It is in the cryopack.

Should be ok, IMO. Wouldnt hurt to turn your fridge up, and store the brisket near the bottom.

It will be fine, unless you put it the freezer bad. I hope you thawed it out in cold water or in the fridge. Counter top is not really safe, not saying it horrible. But not the best way.

Thanks for the feed back.I let it thaw in the fridge.I didn't think it would thaw so quick.I really didn't to freeze for 2 days again and thaw again.

Should not be a problem at all. That brisket would take 3+ days to thaw out in my fridge, but even if it was already thawed, going 5 days in a cold fridge is not a problem.

Yea my spare fridge must not be as good as the one in my kitchen.I have the spare fridge set on coldest and the only thing in it is the brisket and some beers.It only took one day to thaw.Had that been in the kitchen fridge it would have taken 2-3 days atleast.

I'd move it to the colder fridge to be sure. 1 day to thaw that hunk-o-meat may mean it is not cold enough to sit for 5 days.

Thanks, I've been in that same situation myself. Was told to keep it below 40 deg.
