What are the traditional sides served with Texas brisket? Since I got my medium I am wanting to try a brisket next week. If someone down south could tell me how this is usually served and with what, I would really appreciate it. Thank you. --Angie2B

    Angie2B,
BBQ Beans (Baked beans with BBQ meat in them) and Southern Style Cold Slaw are two great sides with any BBQ. Batter-dipped frys are almost a necessity. Beer and iced tea. Texas Toast. Just some ideas.[p]Spring Chicken

  • Angie2B, we always have baked beans and tater salad, but got tired and for the last two time have had plain navey beans with hog jawl and cole slaw.

  • Angie2B,
I have fallen in love with the vidalia onion pie. I even did it with salmon fillets done with dizzy pig Raging River rub. It goes with everything. For brisket, I would also do baked beans.

Spring Chicken,[p]Like Little Feat says, Texas is a country all by itself. If you want to go up to the panhandle, macaroni salad; if you go over East, try rice salad.[p]And Angie2B, make sure them's pinto beans. Coupla Texas Grey watermelons in the beer tub (don't forget sodey pop for the little kids) and you've got yourself a fandango![p]Ken

    Angie2B,
How about pinto beans and creamed corn (the home made stuff). Yum Yum!!!
