I make rib-eye steaks tonight and I just can't get over the taste of them. Also how perfect they come out. I do use my thermapen to help but they are perfect. I have about 4,000.00 in stainless steel gas grills that I will not use anymore.
What I want to do for the unbelievers is cook the exact steak on the egg and also on one of my gas grills and let them see which one is better. I wont tell them which is which.
Believe me when I tell you I couldn't cook a steak on a grill to save my life. I told my wife tonight I wouldn't have a problem cooking for the whole neighborhood. I owe it all to you guys on here. Thanks, Mark

The only problem doing this is that I would ruin a good steak cooking it on a gasser...lol

I know what you mean, Mark. We have a friend who just got his degree, and had him and a bunch of other friends over to celebrate. I bought two ribeye roasts and portioned them into 6 massive ribeye steaks between 1.5 and 2 inches thick. I varied thicknesses so I could cook them together, and get a variety of medium-rare to medium doneness. I did a reverse sear on them. A little hickory smoke...perfection.
There was a lot of meat et at our house last night.
