Help with my butt
Never thought I would ask a bunch of middle age men for help with my butt. Hehe. This is my first pulled pork cook and my pork butt has a bone in it. Is this normal (probably a stupid question)? I am assuming it is a whole shoulder instead of just the Boston Butt. Should I separate it at the point where the bone is or keep it whole before putting it on the egg. It is 7 lbs. Thanks!

Fraser,
Leave the bone in. It will come out easily after the cook is over during the pulling process.

Fraser,[p]Boston butt *is* the shoulder. They just call it that to confuse ya. Leave the bone it, it adds flavor.

RRP,[p]Thanks, which end should I put the temp probe in or does it not matter.
-
Fraser, it's not which end that counts it's just that you want to make sure the probe tip is in the center of the butt and is not touching that bone. Good Luck!
