Started 4 butts for a party tomorrow and wanted to use Tom's rig extender. I think this is just about as high as you can get without blocking the vent.

DAMN!! Will you have to rotate these during the cook Pat?
-
Can't wait to see the after pics Pat. You must be expecting a crowd. How many lbs you got on there?
-
Pat, silly question, how much space do you leave between the bottom butts and the drip pan? are you using spider+stone as heat shield? guru?

Those look huge. I have been thinking about this, do your friends eat as much as you? Is it a club? LOL  :woohoo:
Can't wait to see finished pics.

Lee, I don't think so. I have probes in 3 of them and reading 129, 131, 134 so cooking pretty even so far. They have been on for about 4 hours now.

Looks really good but I know it will look better later. What size egg?
-
Rebecca, it's a friends 50'th Bday and I got volunteered to cook. Already precooked 2 briskets and have a ton of other stuff for tomorrow. I have Dan's grill trailer, the one at the fest, so that will make it easier. Expecting about 100- 150 at a local lake.

Gary, yes the spider and stone regular grate on the fire ring with drip pan then the rig and extender. Kinda overkill but I felt like playing
-
There will be some pretty healthy appetites there until the beer kicks in and the band fires up
-
Molly,, kinda gives a new meaning to "kiss my butt"

I gotta see how this turns out.

Looks fantastic Pat! Everyone at the party will enjoy your pulled pork samitches. :cheer: That's some setup and I agree, high in the dome is where it's at. Tom's rigs are great.
-
Pat, that's a large I suppose...4 butts great!!
-
How long did it take to cook all of the butts? I had a similar cook a couple of days ago(2- 7lb briskets and 2-8lb butts) and the brisket came off at 22 hours and the butts at 24. It was the first time that I've loaded up the large egg and was surprised at the cook time.
Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

I'll be doing the same cook for Memorial Day Weekend...
probably along with a hundred of you!
Man that meat look's good, all dusted up with D.P. or whatever...yum!
Thinking of having some of it with Teriyaki (spelling!) sauce and pineapple.
