Takes On Snakes

With the lengthy tread on snakes over on the regular forum yesterday, it seems as though many here have more than a casual interest in the critters. Years ago I visited the Miami Serpentarium and watched in a combination of awe and horror as Bill Haast milked a number of venimous snakes, including king cobras! He's one, interesting character, and at nearly 100 years of age, he's still at it in a laboratory in Punta Gorda. Thought that those who aren't familiar with him might find this interesting.

    Bill has been bitten so many times that he's practically immune to the strongest venom. Ammazingly, he still keeps his resistance up with regular injections of venom! I could never imagine a life that involved lethal serpents, but Haast has, and he is a legend among legends!!
