Pulled Pork for Momma

Well Gang, I started out Saturday night to prep the egg for an early morning fire only to find out that I had a nice mildew starting to brew (guess that's what I get for letting the egg sit all by her lonesome for a couple weeks in the hot Florida sun). The good news is that I discovered it the night before and was able to get a good hot burn going for about an hour to get rid of the mildew, but that meant I had to wait til morning to do my prep.
Sunday started off much better and I was able to fire up the Egg and get her stable at 250 pretty quick. Threw two coats of rub on two smaller bone-in Boston Butts around 4# each, first coat pre-mustard and another after mustard.
As I've learned from the many wise eggers on the forum every butt is different, so I planned about 2 hours a pound and made sure that I would be ok if I finished 2 hours early or if I finished 2 hours late. I mean the last thing you want to do is dissappoint Momma on Mother's Day.
So long story longer, after about 10 hours (7:30am - 5:30pm) I pulled the first butt off the egg at 200 and let her sit for about 45 mins wrapped in foil. The second one came off around 10.5 hours. As you can see from the results, the bone came out clean and the pork came out juicy.
Not sure what others do, but I added a little of the rub to the pork after pulling. Someone else recommended it to me and I definitely think it enhances the flavor. Plan to add even more next time.
Hope you enjoy the pics. Aloha!
