My wonderful husband stayed home from work today and built this addition to my deck! I had originally thought I wanted a custom table for my large and small (coming soon!) but now I'm feeling ambivalent...maybe leave the eggs free moving (in the corners) with a table top in the mIddle?storage underneath? Mini on top of table? I often turn my large to take advantage of breeze...oh well, all things that are fun to ponder :) :P if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear...

That is a great new space to have! Have you looked at some of the pics of tables and odk on Naked Whiz's site? That might help you.
What a nice view you guys have to look at Julia!

I love the nests. They are more mobile in a nest and easier to clean, IMO. But a full service table would be nice, with a large dry storage area. Or maybe a table for the small putting it at the same height as the Large in nest.

Thanks, Molly! We do have a nice view...it's pretty much the same from
all sides of the house. I have looked at nakedwhiz site...AT LENGTH!!... It's almost overwhelming, most all have something unique to offer... I'll figure something out...I'm just so excited to have this part done! AND, the interior of my house started getting painted today too! Happy, happy Julia :silly:  :silly: :woohoo:

    I built a BIG,granite topped table.I wish I had not.I would rather have a beefed-up nest.The mobility would be nice.

We did a table area at the Studio and I really liked it. but there they sit. in FL they are in nests and like you I can turn to take advantage of the breeze. We are building a new pergola when we go back next fall and it will be tables for eating and drinking but open areas for the eggs in their nests. We were going to build it this winter but could not agree about the built in eggs or mobile.... I won

Julie, the Jewels always win! You just tell Neil to hush up and get the hammer! :P I think I'm gonna make a nice, functional work space, and let the eggs be free... :)

I have a medium and a small and like the versatility of the nests. I put larger wheels on both nests to make them easier to move. The small goes camping with us always and the medium on occasion. With the variety of plastic folding tables available today, the options are endless. Pondering the options can be fun!

I'm with you. Right now I have just two tables and two eggs in nests. I like this setupbut i think I'm going to build a table that houses all my stuff and keeps it dry. I like the mobility. Some dAys when it is cooler I like to cook in the sun and other days when it is raining I like to cook under the carport.
  • My EGGs keep rolling around the backyard, too, Julia...but they don't have that million dollar view :woohoo:
