Spring Hen's Retirement Cake

I thought y'all would enjoy seeing the cake made for Judy's retirement party last night.

DSC03220.jpg

The cake really depicts our future plans better than anything I could say. It tasted pretty good too. Even the Big Green Egg on top was created from cake. Pretty cool idea if you ask me.

Had a really great time. She hasn't read them yet but there were a large number of 'well wishes' cards from a lot of her Egghead friends. I'm pretty sure she will be here thanking everyone after she reads them.

(Yes I took more photos)

Now back to the recharging station to rest my rum-soaked bones.

Say goodnight Leroy.

I'm obviously not on the grapevine list. I didn't know, but I wish I did. I always slip a $100 bill in retirement cards. Oh well ......... Happy retirement, Judy.

I'm guessing the yellow pins are Eggfests you have been to, and the red ones are the ones you plan to go to, n'est-ce pas?

What a very, very cool cake and and what a great occasion!! I bet the count down clock has slowed down LOL the closer you get the slower it will go I bet!
you will be a busy chickens I would say from the looks of that cake :) could not be for nicer people though. We hope you guys have many many years of chasing down fests and that we roost next door to you again LOL but a little quieter next time I hope. I don't need a come to Jesus moment at 11 pm thank you very much! (remember Atlanta?? LOL)
  • Great looking cake.

Congratulations on Judy's retirement - enjoy the coop.

I assume the yellow and red balloons represent Eggfests - no Cdn Eggfests planned? I hope that you can attend one.

    All the best!

Ha... if we use her retirement package to find a couple of good sturdy garage-sale bikes for under $10 each, dumpster-dive along the way, panhandle under a few busy freeway intersection and stop eating altogether, we should just barely be able to make it to some of those Eggfests. We might smell a bit 'ripe' when we get there but we're gonna try to make 'em all.

The cake was made locally by the friend of a friend or something like that. Friend #1 knows of our plan and that we are Eggheads on a mission and must have relayed all the required information to Friend #2. If you look closely you can even see the state outlines. The only thing missing is a couple of chickens LOL...

The party was last night but the last day at work is June 4th. Although Boss #1 told her to take off Monday to recover from the party. I think come tomorrow he will see what the office will be like without her there. He's already said she will be missed.

Good. Maybe we will see you along the highways and byways on your garage-sale bicycle too LOL

If NieggraFest is still on the 'cake' we'll be trying to make it there.

Haaaaa... You can still spend the $100 here at the Chicken Ranch for 'services rendered, smathered, warmed and Eggspertly presented' one of these days. The 'Girls' love visitors.

It is definitely a cool cake. And the clock seems to 'tick' slower these days but at least it's still ticking.

As much as you two get around we will definitely see you along the Egg-Trail again, and next time we encounter a noisy 'Jesus Moment' crowd we will either join 'em or amplify their rejoicing right back through the walls with a boom-box. Give 'em a taste of an Egghead Eggsperience LOL

Thanks. Yes, the balloons are 'targeted' Eggfests. They didn't have a Canadian cake mold so those balloons ended up on someone else's cake. Those people are probably still trying to figure out what they are LOL

With a name like Pattikake I'm sure you know something about cake. Like all things good, someone had to first have the idea. This was a good idea. Thanks for the well wishes.

Linda and I pass our very best on to Judy in her retirement.
Keep in mind you have a room here in Central Texas any time you want to come and explore the middle of Texas.

Thanks. We think that's Denver. Could be Possum, Colorado. Wouldn't that be a hoot for us to show up in Possom asking where the Eggfest is LOL...

    Thanks Mickey.

Is this 'room' invitation like a Mini Eggfest which requires that we bring our own food to be shared with others? LOL

Yes, you will see us in your driveway one of these days while we're Eggsploring Texas. It's a big state and we've only seen some of it. Looking forward to it.

Oh, we ain't got a barrel of money,
    Maybe we're ragged and funny

    Singing a song

Thanks for the card. We cashed it back in at Walgreens and told 'em it was used and we didn't know these people.

We'll plan a SA trip soon. Okay, not 'soon' but maybe 'later.'

    Leroy,

Wish Judy all the best. If you are planning an egg tour, do put Nieggrafest on your map. It is a fabulous part of Canada and at a great time of year.
