Plate setter

I purchased a plate setter for the large green egg but it seams to fit lose. I was under the assumtion that it was a tight fit over the fire ring?

the legs of the plate setter should match up somewhat to where the can sit inverted on top of the fire ring.

The only thing that makes me nervues is it has alot of room inverted around the fire ring. I am afraid of having it fall into the lower part?

Mine is a bit smaller than you would think it should be, too. Move it around and see if it can fall in. I don't think mine would...

Yes if I move mine around I can have it drop into the middle? Scarey if I was to bump it wrong.

jackie,if it can drop into the bottom by moving it you may have the wrong size plate setter. Perhaps you have a large Egg and medium plate setter?? What size is your Egg?

I have BGE and the egg setter is 14" so it was the right one but it seems just a little small.

jackie, that should be the correct plate setter. They are designed "kinda" loose, but if it does not seat without falling into the fire I would ask for a replacement.....

Jackie,[p]I thought the same thing when I put mine in. What I found out is that when you invert the setter, the grill rack fits perfectly around the outside of the legs.[p]Haven't had any problems with knocking mine out of place.
