Very basic cedar table

Here's a table that might inspire the less skilled among us, who can't hope to build some of the real beauts we see here, but who can't bring themselves to lay down the cash for a table kit.
I used cedar 2x4s and 1x6s, lots of screws, two leftover floor tiles (from the previous owner of our house), a patio stone from Home Despot, two hand truck replacement wheels, a stainless steel threaded rod, and some bolts and washers. To help me were some very basic power tools and no knowledge of how to go about building a piece of furniture from raw materials. Oh, and a coat of Thompson's.
I used the dimensions from the BGE large table plans, with a view towards being able to fit a BGE large table cover over the thing.

Nice! Looks similar to mine. The Whiz has plans for a table almost exactly like that on his site too. That is where I got my table plans from.

I see nothing wrong with that table EXCEPT the lack of beer openers and you might want to put some egg feet under it to keep it off the stone.

Basic is sometimes the best! Looks nice, and yes you need a bottle opener on it!! :P

Basic. It looks pretty good to me.

Looks good to me! Is it necessary to have the egg feet?I just bought an X-large yesterday and didn't notice any in the box.If there was supposed to be some I probably threw them away in my excitement to put it together. :(

Nice table. I also bought a table, mostly because my hand and arm were in a cast the first six weeks I had my egg. I move my table constantly, as I keep mine in the garage and roll it out for cooks. I noticed right away that the majority of my table was secured with construction staples. Take the time to go over all the bracing on the table and secure with decking or wood screws. Securing the construction of the table will ensure it last for quite some time. Enjoy.

No feet for the Xlarge. Too much weight and pressure with only 3 feet making contact.
Have fun with your new egg! -

I had my medium size egg for 7 years and wonder how the table/plate works for indirect cooking? Looking for help!
