most here use the egg as a wok burner, you bring it up to about 600 or so degrees, open the dome and then shut the bottom vent and use the wok, works well and is hot enough for stirfrying. on the discit i dont see any btu ratings and the disk loos shallow, i like a deeper wok with a large handle for tossing. the bbqguys,com have wokburner setups, you want one with atleast 50,000 btu rating, bigger is better, you can get away with 20,000 btu,s but you have to cook really small amounts at a time or it cools off too quicklyfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
