what if ur cooking pizza or steaks at high temp. can a draft fan like that be used to get to a higher temp.
what if you didnt put the temp monitor probe in, would the fan fun 100 percent.

Yes, the fan would run at 100 pct, but you don't need to have a fan to get high temps if you build the fire right and have adequate airflow. You can get 1200 degrees at the grate level with no blower.The Naked Whiz

But don't use the Pit Probe. It will burn out somewhere near the 400 degree point.

im wondering if i used an industrial temp controller with high temp thermocouple probe, and used a high cfm guru blower,fan if i could control the temp more with steaks or pizza......why because im an engineer and need to always tinker

Anything is possible but why bother, the Egg is easy to get to high temps without any devices. -RP

I've started using my Guru's meat probe in the dome hole to avoid any possible wire cooking problems. I can't use the ramp mode that way, but I never really used that feature anyway.
