Just wanted to share my design with forum members... gotta give back My BGE has been sitting on the ground for a year now... It's great to have the workspace and not have to do the frog squat!

My woodworking skill are no better than my egg'n skills (beginner). For my design I wanted something a little different. I didn't see a real advantage to putting a hole in the table, and I thought my egg should stand proudly to the side - she does all the work... I just slap the meat on . The material for the table has an interesting history. The 5/8" redwood was some high grade left over material I bought for a deck I was working on about 15 years ago... never used it. The Granite was a single rectangular piece that was a left over scrap from where the kitchen sink was placed... I've had it for 9 years. Finally, the stainless sides were from my BBQ that was damaged during our recent move.... The challenge was figuring out how to bring it all together in a cohesive functional design.

Looks nice. I had the end of my table open and knocked it off the end...do you have the egg secured somehow? You can find the broken egg pictures burried way down in my blog.

Hi Tony,

I currently don't have my egg attached to anything.... It's very stable sitting on the granite, but I thought long and hard during the design about the risk. How did your egg take the final tumble? (didn't see the reason on your blog). I don't have wheels on either of my tables, but see how it could "humpty dumpty" if someone ran into it :ohmy:

I've thought about tying into the handle/hinge strap if necessary. I think a simple cable to keep it tight to the table cutout would be sufficient.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. Hopefully I wont be emailing you back for your planter recipe! :blink:

awesome table, i like the egg off to the side instead of through the top, im building a boring looking table out fo pressure treated, maybe when it looks like crap after being through a couple buffalo winters i will have the initiative to do one like yours
